Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 4:11PM I love sailboats. I've been fascinated with them for many years. But, it wasn't until this year that I actually had the opportunity to go sailing. My first adventure was on an evening cruise during the Summer. It was a gorgeous warm evening and we headed out into the Gulf of Mexico with our 19 year old Captain. I was skeptical at first, especially since I can't swim, but I soon realized our Captain was more than competent to sail the Black Beard sailboat. I'll never forget what it felt like for him to cut the motor and for his crew to raise those massive sails. Within a few minutes we were off without a sound but the clangling of the ropes and the popping of the sails. I was instantly hooked on sailing. Since then I've gone sailing one other time. I'm now anxiously awaiting for Spring so I can go again. Until then I must satisfy my love for sailing by photographing them :)
